at the Ted Stevens Airport.

 

$16 an hour – Temporary

Capstone is seeking COVID-19 screeners to work at the Ted Stevens Airport.

Schedule: Full time, 40 hrs/ week until project is complete

Shift Hours: Day/Night shift, hours may vary

Must be available immediately.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Administering and interpreting the temperature of an individual utilizing tympanic and/or oral thermometers according to manufacturer’s instructions and CDC guidance for personal protection.
2. Fill in registration and laboratory forms completely
3. Disinfect tables and chairs after each patient during triage and registration. Prepare tissue papers for patients if needed
4. Inform patient on swab process, potential discomfort, and next steps after swabs.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Knowledge:

2. Skill in attention to detail
3. Skill in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families.

Abilities:
1. Ability to wear required PPE for up to 12 hours per shift (face mask, eye protection, medical gloves, gown, safety vest, etc.)
2. Ability to pass a fit test for a respirator based on OSHA laws and compliance standards (facial hair must not interfere with seal of mask)
3. Ability to project a pleasant and professional image.
4. Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks.
5. Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computer literacy and proficiency.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
High School Diploma or GED, current CPR certification.
Other Requirements: Current documentation of applicable certification and/license, current CPR certification. Completion of a satisfactory background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position requires frequent, prolonged periods of standing and the employee must be able to bend over. The employee may occasionally be required to move. The health screener will be working in a potentially high COVID-19 exposure environment with known and unknown associated health risks. Individuals with underlying health conditions who contract COVID-19 have greater risk for morbidity and mortality as defined by the Centers for Disease Control (cdc.gov) and should consider these risks prior to accepting this position. Status: Full Time

Hours: Monday- Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm

Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour

Pay/Type: Pay DOE; Non-exempt

Requirements:

High School or equivalent

  •  Must be detail-oriented, organized, reliable, well-spoken, and professional in appearance.
  • Responsibilities will include payment posting, calling insurances for follow up and/or benefits verification, and more.
  • Must be computer proficient as we use an electronic medical records system and most of your work will be done using a computer.
  • Must have a minimum of 1-year experience working in a medical setting (in any capacity).

Summary Perform nasopharyngeal swab procedure to collect specimens for lab testing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Put on (don) and remove (doff) personal protective equipment (PPE) per company protocol
2. Perform nasopharyngeal / nasal or other swab procedure
3. Preparation of specimen collection
4. Provide education for following preventative practices (proper hygiene, social distancing, and other practices)
5. Maintain data in computer application.
6. Sanitization of screening station as per protocol.
