Behavioral & Mental Health
Capstone’s Family Physicians and Counselor work hand in hand in providing the most comprehensive care of mental illness with the full spectrum of treatment options available under one roof. This allows better coordination of your treatment plan and improved follow up.
Dr. Andrews is a specialist in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). This is a highly effective therapy for trauma related disorders.
Chronic Disease Management
Family Physicians are uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat chronic disease. Capstone considers the whole patient when treating any disease process. Capstone maintains records from specialist care to allow better coordination of your care.
Dermatology
Family Physicians receive extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of skin disease. We are able to treat systemic chronic disease’s skin manifestations. We provide biopsy and removal of all manner of skin lesion. We provide skin cancer screening. Dr. Erickson is certified to treat severe scarring acne and rosacea with Accutane. Capstone uses radiofrequency skin surgery to reduce scarring. This technique can be used to resurface unslightly blemishes with excellent results.

Dr. Andrews has obtained the highest certification in this specialized behavior modification technique.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desenitization and Reprocessing is a comprehensive, integrative psychotherapy approach.
During treatment various procedures and protocols are used to address the entire clinical picture. One of the procedures elements is "dual stimulation" using bilateral eye movements, tones, or taps. During this time, clients generally experience the emergence of insight, changes in memories, or new associations.
EMDR seeks to create an adaptive resolution to traumatic experiences, thus allowing the emotional brain to resume normal affective regulation. After EMDR processing, clients generally report that the emotional distress related to the memory has been eliminated, or greatly decreased, and that they have gained important cognitive insights.
Geriatrics
As our patients age we are proud to be qualified to continue your care, helping you maintain the highest quality of life for the longest possible time. We also offer end of life counseling and care through our Active Medical staff status at MSRMC.
Hospital Care
Capstone Physicians are privileged as Active Medical Staff at MSRMC. We provide 24/7/365 practice coverage for our established patients. We provide obstretic, newborn, pediatric, adult, and ICU care whichever is needed.
Laboratory
Capstone offers same day results for cholesterol, thyroid, blood counts, diabetes testing, strep, mononucleosis, urinalysis, pregnancy, and drug testing. Results for send out labs can be viewed with our online patient portal.
Men's Health
We provide care for all issues specifically pertaining to men, including vasectomy, testosterone replacement, prostate health, and cancer screening.
Minor Surgery
Our physicians offer lump and bump removal, therapeutic injections, and laceration repair in addition to the procedures mentioned above.
Pediatrics
Capstone offers a full array of services to children of all ages from initial delivery resuscitation to pre-college physicals and everything in between. We understand family dynamics and are able to care for the rest of the family as well as your child. We offer hospital admission and stabilization, well child checks, immunizations, acute outpatient care, circumcision, as well as ADD evaluations.

Sports Medicine & Physicals
Dr. Valerius and Erickson have a special interest in treating athletes. Their broad medical and orthopedic knowledge allow them to screen, diagnose and treat our community’s athletes. They have been the Mat-Su Miners ABL baseball team’s physicians for the past 8 years.
Capstone provides sport participation physicals for all age groups.
Travel Medicine
Are you planning to travel to the bush or overseas? We can provide you with vaccinations, medications, and necessary preparations for these trips. Please see us upon return if any disease has been contracted.
Urgent Care
Capstone offers same day and walk-in appointments for our patients’ urgent needs, whatever they may be. Our practice after hours coverage greatly reduces your need to use the Emergency Room by accessing medical advice when you need it most. Clinical Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis is a method of communication that induces a trance-like state (a relaxed focus). Trance is a naturally occurring state in which one's attention is narrowly focused and relatively free of distractions. As an adjunct to psychotherapy, hypnosis can help clients enter a relaxed, comfortable, trance state for obtaining specific therapeutic outcomes.
How do I know if I am actually hypnotized?
- The experience is different for everyone.

- For many people, hypnosis is much like reading a good book. You are absorbed, but are still aware of your environment and your internal dialogue.
